4 Self-Care Practices While Social Distancing

Here are four easy self-care practices you can try why spending more time at home due to the coronavirus.

Let’s be honest, the Coronavirus Pandemic is not the best thing that could happen in your life. Let’s explore some positive things you can start doing today to improve your social distancing experience.

Here are 4 easy self-care practices during isolation:

  1. Repeat a mantra to yourself in the mirror every morning. If you don’t know where to start with self-care practices, first determine what behaviors or feelings you want to change. (i.e. Love myself more, express more gratitude, etc.) Create a positive mantra and say it each morning. For example, you might want to date more. If so, then your mantra could be, “I am a sexy, attractive woman who dates kind, amazing men.” Initially, it will feel unnatural, but after 10 days, your brain will start to absorb it.
  2. Dance to fun upbeat music. Exercise is one of the best ways to beat feelings of sadness. Allow yourself 20 minutes a day to listen to your favorite songs and dance your butt off. Movement sparks creativity, and brainpower.
  3. Fantasy is your best friend. Lie on your bed, relax, and imagine something remarkable happening in your life. Did you meet the man of your dreams, travel to an exotic island, or get the promotion at work? What does your brain want you to accomplish or feel? Allowing time for fantasy helps you solve your problems in creative, fun ways.
  4. Express words of gratitude to your friends and family. Noticing the good things about your loved ones helps you feel more connect, safe, and happy. Another bonus: your friends and family will enjoy the compliments!

The pandemic will eventually come to an end and we can try to use this time wisely, in ways that will enrich our lives. Self-care practices help us grow spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

Hope everyone practices self care… there has never been a better time!
